The world of music and movies are very often intertwined. The Nigerian film industry popularly referred to as Nollywood is no exception. Many Nollywood stars have delved into music. The latest screen idol to venture into the world of music is Tonto Dikeh.
Tonto Dikeh first dabbled in music putting some of her vocals on Kas song ‘Iyawo Wind,’ back in November 2011. Here Tonto Dikeh can be seen working with Kas in the studio. When Tonto announced that she was going to be taking music more seriously, the controversial actress rocked the internet with the announcement. Opinions were polarised, with the popular actress trending on Twitter for days on end. Her first singles were “Hi” and “Itz Ova” were released on the same day in mid-October. ‘Hi’ is an uptempo dance track that uses African drums as the pulse of the track. Listen to it here.‘Itz Ova’ has more of a reggae dancehall feel and features artist Snypa. Listen to Itz Ova here. Tonto has recently released another single Crazically Fit which is produced by and features the hugely talented and popular Nigerian producer and singer Terry G. You can listen to Crazically Fit here. Again the buzz surrounding the music had Tonto trending on Twitter.

the special date12-12-12

http://www.tripleclicks.com/12025845.

Gotten from CNN

From India to Las Vegas, superstitious lovebirds and numbers geeks are reveling in a once-in-a-lifetime Wednesday event: the date 12/12/12.
Sure, it might be just another set of numbers for some. But unlike the past 11 years, this will be the last such triple date for almost a century -- until January 1, 2101.
That means one last chance for couples to get hitched on such an easy-to-remember wedding date (read: anniversary date).
Those tying the knot at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel have 40 different 12/12/12 wedding packages to choose from. Six of those options include an Elvis impersonator. Others include pirate, gangster and gothic themes.
"Besides a traditional wedding, the most popular is Elvis in a pink Caddy, where Elvis drives the couple down the aisle in a pink Cadillac," said general manager Brian Mills, who doubles as an Elvis impersonator.
From midnight to midnight, more than 100 couples will walk or ride down the aisle at Viva Las Vegas. That's more than 10 times the number of couples who get hitched on a typical Wednesday in December, Mills said.

"The charismatic and fun-loving couple that gets married on a 12 day is lucky and balanced, but seeking constant goals to achieve," the chapel's website explains. "The 'go-getting' 1 and the 'sensitive' 2 make this a very balanced number.
"1 is the vibration of 'new beginnings' and starting things afresh. The 2 vibration is about seeking 'balance' and that's certainly something that many will struggle with -- balancing the bank balance, balancing the food and beverage intake, balancing the emotions ... balancing in every way."
For professional numerologists, 12/12/12 isn't just a cool repetition of digits or a lucky day for lovers.
It's a fantastic day to start a new business venture or make a significant purchase, Indian numerologist Swetta Jumaani said.
According to numerology, 12 is considered a "three" number because the digits add up to three.
And three is a very good number because it corresponds with the largest planet, Jupiter, in addition to wealth. (In case you're wondering, the No. 1 planet is the sun, and the No. 2 planet is the moon.)
"If you're in a business of trading money, or the buying and selling of anything, tomorrow is a good day to make investments," Jumaani said Tuesday. "If you want to buy something -- property, if you want to buy gold -- it'd be a good day."
But Wednesday is a terrible day to wear black, she said.
"Black is a very inauspicious color. Something bad always happens," Jumaani said.
Halfway across the world in Alabama, Kiam Moriya will turn 12 on 12/12/12 -- at exactly 12:12 p.m., AL.com reported.
"It's like one minute out of a whole lifetime," Kiam told the news site. "You know, it's all 12s."
Wednesday also marks a milestone for the Vatican, where Pope Benedict XVI will send his first official tweet to the world.
It's unclear whether the pope chose 12/12/12 for the digits or for some other reason. But more than 600,000 followers are eagerly waiting to see what guidance @Pontifex will offer in 140 characters or less.
Despite the weddings, superstitions and inaugural papal tweet, underwhelmed Twitter users griped about all the brouhaha.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's 12.12.12 and...... Nothing happened," Aazief Khalid of Malaysia tweeted Wednesday.
And nothing like it will happen again for almost 100 years.

BLACKBERRY PORSCHE

http://www.tripleclicks.com/12025845.

What NIGERIANS DO NOT KNOW ABOUT BLACKBERRY PORSCHE

After much ado about the Blackberry P’9981 aka BLACKBERRY PORSCHE and a lot of messages directed to me, I decided to literally break my silence on issues about the device and others surrounding the production of the elitist beauty tool of communication.   In October 2011, RIM announced the Blackberry P’9981 PORSCHE DESIGN which was nicknamed, ‘knight’ during the Developers’ Conference at Burj Khalifa, Dubai.   This tool was specifically designed for the PORSCHE DESIGN SERIES, which is involved in the production of unique, bespoke and exclusive design of accessories that range from pens, timepieces, wallets, to  eyewear, footwear and luggage.  The blackberry P’9981 was specifically designed to fill in the Porsche design series electronic section, to create a complete take away bundle as seen below.

Porsche Design Complete (www.porsche-design.com)

The device however was only launched in the last October DEVCON at Dubai because of the deliberate scope of the PORSCHE DESIGN series, part of which was to target the elite.  Like the Porsche SE (Automobile) with its limited “functions” but unique design, the Porsche Design series was specifically interested in the few elite who are more particular about ‘EXCLUSIVITY’ to ‘CAPABILITY’.  Hence, the launch in where it would have its LARGEST market of the sect.

“….the device was developed for people who buy toilet paper at $2000

The blackberry p’9981 however was NOT developed for RIMs commercial purpose as it is not in its range of serviced products.  As a matter of fact, the device cannot be located anywhere on the blackberry website but for http://ae.blackberry.com which is the dedicated sub-domain of the United Arab Emirates Section of Blackberry.

This clearly indicates the fact that RIM  is tactically dissociating itself from the device in order to focus on more pressing and interesting issues, which include the BBX, Blackberry Playbook 2.0, and some other devices that I wouldn’t want to announce yet since RIM themselves haven’t (and so I don’t look like one under their payroll).  Haven highlighted the brief background of the device and its concept, it is imperative that we discuss about the device itself.

So in order to review the device I would first of all put it side by side a blackberry bold 9900/9930 (which NIGERIANS would call a bold 5, which actually is a “4”…. Story for another day).
The blackberry bold 9900 doesn’t actually fall in my favorite list, as there are so many issues to be treated, it gets the same treatment from me as the Blackberry storm 9500 series.  But in order to show the “level” of the P’9981 capability I decide to compare with one of my least favorite devices.

Physical features

P’9981 – Height: 115 mm / 4.53 in, Width: 67 mm / 2.64 in, Depth: 11.3 mm / 0.44 in, Weight: 155 g / 5.47 oz

9900SERIES – Height: 4.53 in / 115 mm, Width: 2.60 in / 66 mm, Depth: 0.41 in / 10.5 mm, Weight: 4.59 oz / 130 g

Clearly, the PORSCHE device is more conscious in weight than visibility.  Though it is smaller in frame (width)  it is obviously heavier than the 9900.

Perfomance

Its performance and speed is nothing different to the 9900series, as they both share MSM 8655, 1.2Ghz processor, and internal storage capacity of 768MB RAM and 8Gb hard disk storage with an expandable memory of up to 32gb (though the only difference is the PORSCHE comes with a 16gb memory card, while the bold 9900 comes with 4gb and some with 8gb).

Its camera capabilities have totally been mirrored, and it’s not because RIM can’t get better, it’s because the market would care less of the difference, so “why bother?”.

5 MP camera, HD Video recording (720p), 4X Digital Zoom, Flash, Face detection and Image Stabilization, Geo-tagging, Scene Modes.

The screen and display(resolution/size/touch) is totally identical to that the bold 9900.

RIM was very silent about the battery life capability of the P’9981 which could only mean two things (that they dont want to ink bloat the features page with its power battery capability, or they totally believe that its OWNERS should not be concerned about power because, the should have it in ABUNDANCE right?) Dont forget to purchase a mobile generator too. :P
Every other specification detail is just identical, aside from the ADVANCED SENSORS on the P’9981 (which 99.99999999999999999999…i can continue…999999999….) will not even find, speak little of activate and lesser of use.   The accelerometer, magnetometer and proximity sensors almost seem useless most especially for the “elite” (in my view, it was just a lab bonus to boost the market value).

http://ae.blackberry.com/devices/p9981/features.jsp#!specifications (PORSCHE)

http://uk.blackberry.com/devices/blackberrybold9900/features.jsp#!specifications (9900 SERIES)

Other shocking details include the fact that the device is “JUST” an OS 7 device, (I was expecting the BBX to be tested on it though but, smart move RIM).  Furthermore, what the market is not aware of is that the device has next to nothing in support and software upgrades and development, so not only would owners suffer for the current inability for native app and theme development for OS 7 devices, they most likely wouldn’t be able to upgrade to an advanced OS when development is fixed, which means in a matter of months (3-5) the device would almost become obsolete.  By the time the Liquid Graphic Display is fixed, the app world would be filled with OS7 Porsche cloned themes.

In summary, the BLACKBERRY P’9981 PORSCHE DESIGN is just a very well packaged and factory themed BLACKBERRY BOLD 9900 SERIES made for people who don’t care about the price but are concerned about exclusivity.  For me, you can only be concerned about exclusivity when you earn more than you work.  Anyone who believes that blackberry P’9981 is “the future” of RIM is misinformed and probably deluded.  In fact, it is a neglected “bastard” son of RIM.  It is a pity though that NIGERIANS, because of their over bloated crowd mentality and their compendium of ignorance and esteem issues would chase the device like “a COCK on HEN”.

For others who say “BLACKBERRY IS FINISHED” should observe that this device is not sold anywhere in the world (US, CANADA AND UK inclusive) at the moment except UAE (NIGERIA illegally, thanks to your low mental profiled business men and women who look for cheap avenues to exploit their brothers and sisters by visiting the UAE to bringing in mostly substandard commodities PORSCHE inclusive rather than seek at attempts of progressive development).
